Haani started in a living room. Anita had been sketching hat ideas for years - things she wanted to wear but couldn't find. Soft, simple, not made from anything that used to be on an animal, and not made in ways that hurt the planet.

Her dad Hemant kept asking the hard questions. "But is it really vegan? What's in the dye? Who's knitting it?" So they worked through them one by one, and the answers became the brand.

Mugsy, Anita's childhood plush pup, ended up as the unofficial third co-founder. Every prototype gets the Mugsy test: if he looks comfy on it, it ships.

What we believe
